That's great you have so many meets and 2000 clubs! In California, where I live, there are a lot of little meets from January to February. Then, there are mainly college meets but I recently learned that if you are fast enough, the college meets will let you race unattached. I don't want to run a lot of meets this year. 2012 will be my first year in a track meet since maybe 2004 and racing in meets will not fit in very well with my training. In my training I compete against myself, my previous best time in training, although I am not literally racing my workouts.
I predict that I'll be back to my 2004 racing shape in mid-February, but I just mainly want to race in either 1 Championship or perhaps two prior meets since racing trains for racing.
I remember racing in 2004 and you are right, it is so much fun. I remember racing the 3200m against a collegiate woman and leading her to what was a good time for her. That should give you an idea of how fast/slow I was back then. It'll take me awhile to give any male collegiate athlete a run for his money.
