bump, getting close to the end of xc season
any swim/bike workouts you guys can recommend as supplementary for winter training? i'd like to start now and get a good cycle going.
free bump. i support your goal.
i've been running 60-70 miles a week at a solid pace. time to start lifting? i have no indoor season.
another free bump.
I'm in a similar position

Sorry, thought this was about the marathon.
Yes, get in some lifts, but don't sacrifice running for lifting. Get in some low weight, high reps for now to increase your endurance. Then as you get closer to your season when you should have more speedwork under your belt, the lifts should have a little higher weight and a little less repetitions. Again, do not be horribly concerned about lifting that much. I would just recommend the abs, push-ups, pull-ups, and dips.
Also, do not be afraid to take a day off every here and there, like once every two weeks just to let your body get in some appropriate rest. I would definitely recommend getting in some accelerations, or getting on the track a couple times a week and doing some Sprint Straightaways, Jog Corners (SSJC's) and get in 800m worth of that in order to maintain basic speed, turnover, as well as getting used to pace change.
Just my two cents...
here's another free bump
