yeah man, you're so right, success just kills the genre, dude.
sigh. . . spoken like a true self-impressed douche.
i love dubstep, but i agree, the songs get old rather fast. i do like a wide variety of electronica/house/drum&bass stuff though, cant get enough of all of it. the problem is though, there is a lot of good dubstep out there, but there is A TON of bad dubstep, so it makes it harder to find good new songs sometimes.
I love electronica music but I don't like dubstep & sadly it's the only live stuff djs play around me. Scene is definitely growing. I prefer trance end lately especially progressive house & techno.
Marcus Schossow is where it's at.

In the case of edm it does, douche. The more crap on the radio just leads to more sub par tunes being produced. I don't care if you like guetta and the house-pop he produces, or if you are one of the kids jumping on to the recent dubstep movement. If you talk to any real fan that has been following the scene for years they will say the same. But I guess they're all douches too. Just like all of the people who go on this board and make fun of other runners (probably you).
The Heyoka was OK, especially "Bubble"
But Pantyraid...awesome. A lot like Daftpunk but more ambient. I guess this gets more into "glitch" but WTF I know what I like....

Great training soundtrack
This website puts up some good tracks all the time
Some of it is okay, some is kind of cool, but none is great, imo, and there's no way I could listen to it for more than about 10 minutes. I don't understand the craze. And none of it is good pump up music, either.
EDM is completely on the rise - and I love it.
As someone mentioned earlier, it's starting to show up in these shitty "pop" songs on the radio, which imo proves that it's catching on in a big way.
Dubstep is ok, but I also can only listen to it in bits and pieces. I prefer house; check out guys like Benny Benassi and Avicii. It's more of an upbeat sound and a lot of fun to run to... easy to lock right in and groove to.

But on the plus side, once the stuff gets more commercial you'll be able to smugly tell me about how you liked that kind of music before it was popular. This seems to be one of the greatest joys in the life of your kind.
Anyone else psyched at Skrillex being up for a Grammy? The Deadmau5 show was awesome. Highlight of that satan-offal production.

Dude, skrillex is soo not dub step. Brostep is where its at these days.
The amount of ghey in this thread is at a saturation point.
I had this thought today. I haven't heard that dam awful dubstep in a while.
Dubstep is officially over. Thank you! Worst music ever!
But was deadmau5 dub step?
