You will probably say I'm crazy, but I think LV will surprise a lot of people with rapid improvements. Top 5 is not impossible, but likely top 10. He is like Bob Kennedy during his freshmen year and we know he wound up winning.

1. Lawi Lalang- Can break everyone with ease. No one holds on to him. He will only get better.
2. Leonard Korir- Has a solid kick that will give him the edge for second.
3. Paul Chelimo(sleeper)- Going out on a limb, but this guy has been destroying his comp this year and likes to go out very hard.
4. Diego Estrada- Senior Pride and is running very tough and determined.
5. Chris Derrick- Extremely talented and runs well in competitive/national XC races.
I agree with Chelimo. This guy has won all of his races, including Paul Short and Virginia, by about 30 seconds. At Paul Short he went out in like 4:30 or something for the mile. Give him more kenyans to run with and our poor americans don't stand a chance...
When is LV's next race?
Yes. LV will get better and move up this season, he'll run good at Nats.
Will he be All American? Meh... maybe.
Will he be a contender? Not even for the first 400.
JEEEEZZZZ this is hard. I can't even put numbers to these guys because they're all going to be up there and I don't have a clue whats going to happen.
Lawi Lalang
Diego Estrada
Chris Derrick
Cam Levins
Leonard Korir
Luke Puskedra
Ryan Hill
I'm most leaning for Estrada and Levins. But Lalang... I don't know... he is only a freshman, not tons of experience. He's certainly beatable.
Everyone's lists look good. The only person I'd take out of any top 5 list is Miles Batty. 10,000 is a long way for him- He'll be up there somewhere though, especially in the first 2/3 of the race.

Gee, I wonder what state you are from??
As for the women:
Sheila Reid (Villanova)
Jordan Hasay (Oregon)
Silje Fjortoft (SMU)
Risper Kimaiyo (UTEP)
Abbey D'Agaostino (Dartmouth)
1. German Fernandez. BELIEVE.
2. Ryan Hill
3. Lawi Lalang
4. Leonard Korir
5. Chris Derrick
Lalang's fitness is overrated, he hasn't run against anybody yet.
As the next German Fernandez, Lukas will probably get hurt for a while. But if he doesn't, it's hard to see him coming in outside the top 10.
1. Lalang
2. Lowe
3. Chelimo
4. Korir
5. Fernandez
6. Hill
7. Batty
8. Wacker
9. Wisco #1
10. Derrick
1. Lalang
2. Korir
3. Estrada
4. Derrick
5. Levins
6. Puskedra
7. Hill
8. Mecheso
9. Erassa
10. Hubers
11. Lowe
12. Fernandez
13. McCormack
14. Cabral
15. Tomy
16. Batty
17. Chelimo
18. Mead
19. Ahmed
20. Bayer
21. Wacker
22. Riley
23. Farrell
24. Bosshard
25. Connor
26. Verzbicas
27. Lutz
Kyle Dawson from PSU ftw. The power of the stache lives on
1. Korir- will kick away from everyone the last 400.
2. Lalang-will go out too fast and not put enough distance between him and the field and korir will get him.
3. Derrick- will not do a "pack run" since stanford won't win and will run for individual honors.
4. Estrada - Will hold onto 4th after going out hard with lalang and company.
5. Fernandez- has to show up one of these years.
1. Lenny Korir
2. Lawi Lalang
3. Ryan Hill
4. Chris Derrick
5. Donn Cabral
So Mo, who usually beats Hubers (like the last three times that they have run major races) along with similar condition Darling, Collins and Krause are almost not worth mentioning relative to Hubers etc? Suddenly guys that were scoring 10 and 12 points are supposed to get better an score more than twice as many points? Same goes for some of the OSU guys. These are the two teams that have REALLY been preparing for this season. LV disappeared by 4km and now he is supposed to be running hard for 10k? I think most of your 2-10 will finish lower than listed except those that have already finished high. Hill closes really well, but how well he do at 10,000 when a kick is relatively less important. Miler Batty is great, but probably should not be too much higher at 10k (8k would be better for him) Farrel is a year older and will improve on last year, just as he has been running so far.

Watch for Emily Infeld. Pre-nats was her first race; her training has been geared for OT. She should bee in shape for top five at least by NCAAs.
1) Cam Levins
2) Chris Derrick
3) David McCarthy
4) Lawi Lalang
5) Leonard Korir
Who is this Ryan Hill guy? I never heard of him. Some people keep listing him. Anyone have any background on the kid?
