Gouchers moving to Colorado

I am shocked that it took so long to reach these boards. I knew the weekend of Rock and Roll Philly that Kara was shopping around for a coach. She talked with nearly every elite marathon coach in the US.

It is common knowledge that Alberto is doing a great job on the track but has always struggled in the marathon. Kara is too old to wait for the fix.

I heard they're moving there so Colt can grow up at altitude.

I thought maybe the Gouchers have lost their luster. I am sure that Weldon and Robert are well aware of this. Just not newsworthy because no one cares. If Shalane was leaving Jerry it would be a story.

If you heard that they are coming to Colorado, it's probably because Kara is reportedly making an appearance at the RnR Denver race this weekend.

If this is true then it looks like they are preparing for German Fernandez. He would have Ciaran o Lionaird to do speed work with, and Galen + Mo Farah for longer distances. 4 years from now add Lukas and you have the best training group in the world.

I never heard where they were going. I just know for a fact they are leaving Alberto. Kara needs a marathon coach. They have contacted several US coaches. If you don't believe me then ask Adam or Kara.

FWIW, Adam was warming up for Philly with Jason Hartmann (and one other guy, I forget who). According to http://www.kimbia.net/athletes/hartmann/ Hartmann is coached by Troop.

Adam ran the last few miles with Paul Hefferon. Paul runs for Hansons. I also saw Kevin talking with Adam. Must be Hansons. Kara and Desi training together.

There, I fixed it for ya. There are a few groups in Iten, Addis, etc. that are and will always be better.

And Kara's competitor.com blog mentions Desi.

I think for track the Oregon Project will surpass them. They may not have as many, but it will certainly be top heavy.

Ummm...sir/madam, the best training group has been in Iten and in the outskirts of Addis for years now. I don't see that changing in the near or far future.

Regarding this alleged move, I think it'd be a great move for them both. Hopefully Hudson is able to work something out for them.

Newsflash, Kara is NOT as good as many think. She can't run faster in the 5 or 10 and she's done the marathon training, so then....she's tapped. She proved her lack of 10,000 ability in Beijing, pr'ing and getting 10th?

Kara is NOT running a sub 2:22, not gonna happen and she will never be in the top 5 in any Olympic Game, let alone top 3.

I was just on Kara's FB page. She posted a pic of her and Colt at a 'goodbye party". Guess it's true. I wonder who will coach her and how her body will hild up now that she won't have access to all the "Nike toys" she was used to using.
