I just can't get my legs going in the morning...no matter what the training session calls for. I can't tempo as well. My long runs are slower and more painful. Intervals will be slower. Worst of all...my races are always worse in the morning. Especially XC or road races. Mid-Distance track races I manage to do fine and that's usually because they're no earlier than noon. I just feel like I tie up really easily when I run in the A.M.
I just graduated and am running post-collegiately. My college coach used to tell me I need to stretch better to get my legs to feel better. I started focusing heavily on stretching in the morning and had no luck.
I hate it because I'm trying to hop in some road races (which are always early) now and I want to run some fast times, but I'm always dragging ass in the mornings. My P.M. runs and workouts are almost ALWAYS done more comfortably and at a faster pace.
Does anyone else have this problem???
