Who are some of the best up-and-coming college cross country/distance coaches? Head coaches or assistants who aspire to be head coaches; middle and long-distance focus; who has measurable success and can energize a program?
I'm thinking of people who have built a program from the ground up, or taken it from just OK to being great. They can take decent kids and made them great, or go out and recruit great kids and take them to the next level. The team is committed and are good citizens on campus. Team success is key, not interested in one national qualifier on a team that finishes 7th in the conference championship.
If you were a division 1 athletic director with not fully funded programs, but a decent number of scholarships to go toward men's and women's track/xc, good facilities, who would you hire to take your program to the next level? Why?
