Hello Everyone,
I posted this topic on the Injuries Forum but had no responses.
Yesterday I just got off my break because I got a 9-week base for XC Season but circumstances came up that would not let me run the Season. I was running very good before taking a break and today I started running again.
I felt very fast today for my first day but after 13 minutes I had to stop because of this issue.
After about 10 minutes on my run yesterday, I started to feel both of my Shins in pain which forced me to stop running at 13:00. I was going to run for 30 minutes today since it was my first day back but all of the sudden I got pain in my shins and it's when I run, not walk.
What is causing this problem if I have gotten rest? I can't have this continue because I was going to build my base up again and I have 4 months until Track. Does anyone have any advice? During my warm up I wasn't feeling any pain and all of the sudden after the first Mile on my run, I felt that shin pain which forced me to walk. I want to know how this can happen after taking a break.. I started running at age 14 so i've been running consistently for around 3 years and I have never had any shin problems. I am hoping that this won't last too long because it will keep me from running until I'm recovered.
After a Good Night's rest, I still feel the Pain and at school when I go up and down the stairs, I feel the shin pain and this was the first time it happened since today I walked up/down the stairs after yesterday's first run.
I don't know if i'll be able to run today.
I am a Senior in High School and i'm 17
Thanks in advance to all who can help
I am 17/Senior
