Yeah i'm also a scholarship runner at a D1 school. averaged 30 miles a week in highschool. ran in the 15:40's in highschool. very similiar story to his. easy days prob ran 3 miles, and hard days goin 7.
if you dont see yourself as a true xc guy, i wouldnt reccomend killing the miles. Its not needed for track. ran xc in the fall, but focsed on track in the spring. I'm going to be a junior this next year and this'll be my first year hitting 50 mpw consistently. And i'm a solid mid distance runner.
