Repeating the above question: why do you want hip pockets on your running shorts? Also, why no liner?
You can blame some of your struggle on short shorts being out of fashion, but mostly you are just after a strange pair of shorts.

I love it! A bunch of pasty Daisy Dukes wearing nerds are ragging on basketball shorts.
This site is hilarious!
You, are simply a fat slob of a person. You run around in your stupid baggy a**
basketball shorts, simply because you yourself are a slow fat a**. The fact that you are even posting on this site made for runners and you hate running shorts is actually amazing. You in fact are simply too scared to let other people catch a glimpse of the sillouete of your rather small white penis. However if you are a Kenyan runner you know better than too bash on running shorts as you barely run with any clothes including shoes. If you are a fat black hobby jogger from Detroit GTFO.
Basketball shorts belong on the courts

Mesh sports shorts these days are baggier than ever. Go to any sporting goods store such as Footlocker, DicksSportingGoods, SportsAuthority, Champs, etc and the shorts are f*ckin ginormous. Most letsrunners would need to wear a Nike size Small b-ball shorts because >medium would look like capri pants.
we runners get teased for our
I started several posts about this and they went nowhere.
I predicted to people in the late 1990s that some basketball team would shorten their shorts by a few inches and win the NBA title despite not being the best team. The uniforms they have now don't make sense. How can you stay warm if you wear a tank top with long shorts, under armor, knee high socks and knee braces! I would think you would freeze within the first few minutes. (But we see some undershirts too with some players. I bet most have to change at halftime. Doesn't that cut into the coaches talk? They cannot practice, now the coach cannot talk to them at halftime either. Don' mak sens t'all!!!)

No, this trend actually started because a few big players in the NBA in the late '80s early '90s, namely Michael Jordan wanted to wear longer basketball shorts when they played.
Correct answer.
Black guy from Philly here. It has been at least a good 8 years track wise and 5 years basketball wise since I've seen anyone searching for or wearing baggy shorts lol. That style is way gone. High school, college and pros are gearing towards smaller clothes. There are some states that are a little slow when it comes to fashion, so I won't say it's a lie but as far as not being able to find small shorts, that's flat out just trying to stir the messageboard.
Blunt truth: The baggy shorts trend started because people realized how dumb runners looked in short shorts.
