One of these things is not like the others
Right, Bekele is a 12:30s guy witha closet full of gold medals and the rest are 12:50s wannabes.
Just checked the meet start lists/time sched (http://www.diamondleague-london.com/Live-StartlistsResults/Overview/)
and all of a sudden - was not there yesterday - a mens 5000 has been added but no entries yet.
Could this be a set up for KB?

Maybe. It is not obvious to me. But I could well be mistaken.
Bekele is planning to run 10k at Brussels Diamond League meet.
Concerning London let's just wait.

That article is from June.

Solinsky would produce his fastest ever DNF.
Definitely epic!
I would love to see K. Bekele come back and run these guys into the ground. Not because I don't like them or anything; I just want to have to privilege to watch the greatest distance runner of all time in his prime. Kind of like what it must have been like for boxing fans to witness Ali fight in his prime, or to watch Michael Jordan in the early 90s.
I mean, most of us have seen Bekele win big races and set WRs already. He was on top of the world just a couple of years ago. But he is not yet the unanimous G.O.A.T is he? One could still argue that Geb deserves that title. No, I want to witness the point at which Bekele separates himself from Geb in the GOAT discussion. I want to see him win the world 10k title this year, and then do it again in London next year. Maybe he'll even move up to the marathon and run some phenomenal times before all is said and done. At which point we would all have to agree: Yes, we are now truly witnessing the greatest distance runner of all time. Watching good runners like Mo Farah and Bernard Lagat race is fun and I like those guys. I wish them the best. But it's not the same as watching KB do things that have never been done before.

He's probably a 4:32 miler :)

One could also argue that Geb was never forced into a 2 year drug suspension. Or whatever happened to Bekele...
It's a shame that the news flow from these athletes to their fans is pretty much non-existent. Bekeles last tweet is from spring.
Maybe Bekele just needed a break from the sport. He's been in it for years and most of that unchallenged. AND he has a wife. Maybe he just wanted to experience a regular life for a bit. Think about how things were when stopped training 24/7 after college ended.
no
Or maybe he was actually injured. You know, that happens to people who run a lot sometimes.
If he had a two year band than wouldn't he have to give his two medals back from 09 which he certainly isn't. Gosh the slander on these boards is quite amazing.
Kenny B went to college?

MO - You have had ur 2 mins of fame, now would be a good time to gracefully step aside. THE KING IS BACK!!!!
He is simply the greatest distance runner of all times. Mo is better of taking part in the 5K, he wont be able to live with the scintillating pace Tadesse is gonna set in the second half of the 10K.
Didn't you see what Mo did to Tadesse earlier this year?
If Bekele had a mysterious, undisclosed two-year ban, how could he run cross country races in 2010? Explain this to me please.

I bet Mr. Bekele has not actually been hurt over the past couple years, but actually been experimenting with new training techniques in the highlands of Tibet. He will break every world record from 3k to 10k in the remainder of the year. Next year, he will do it again. In 2013, he will set the marathon world record. Twice.
Haha you crazy for real, thats not gonna happen! You think he can break records like you said. Follow how long it took him to set the existing records and you'll understand what I am trying to say.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
