You think these kids are rocket scientists? You think they would think it through that in 5 years they might be pro's and NOT want pictures of them in Adidas out there?

LV is likely to run in Nike at Oregon. In 5 years when he will surely be a pro...because of his Oregon connection, Nike will likely outbid everyone to sign him.

Adidas knows this, so they forced all the kids to have their last high profile photo's taken in Adidas.

And yeah, duh, most high school kids would go crazy scarfing up the free gear that Adidas put them in a room full of.

YOU THINK ADIDAS DID NOT KNOW THAT? It's like putting weight event guys in front of a free food.

It made all those kids look like pro's sponsored by Adidas. And I just wonder if it was something that could have challenged NCAA eligibility rules.

These event sponsors should agnostic about what high school kids wear.

I know of at least one kid that was in the race who wore NIKES

I have no problem with the kids wearing adidias gear, that only makes sense. I thought it was rather dumb to put everyone in the same uniform with the ex workin of the 2 or 3 in black. They needed more kit variations with that many runners.

I do not know where people are getting their facts. If you go back and look at the race nearly every kid (boy and girl) in the mile races ran in NIKE spikes. In the girls race there were a pair of Brooks and Mizuno on the line.

Talking with two of the guys after the meet, they said they were given adidas spikes (just like footlocker), but were told to race in whatever they wanted. They wore the jerseys made for the meet (just like footlocker).

If you ask me, sounds like the OP is one of the kids adidas didn't let in having a temper tantrum. Sorry, just didn't make the cut.

I did think it was odd to see LV in different spikes than usual, so clearly there was some reason behind that decision, but quite a few guys had on nikes.

If Lukas had worn is victories I'm sure he would have run at least 3:55. Just sayin'

Adidas puts on an awesome meet and experience. Wear the clothes, spikes are up to you. Many wore them, some did not. Not one complaint. Thanks Adidas!

Not only a Douche move by adidas... The kids looked stupid with only two uni variations.

They're in high school, let them wear their own gear and look like themselves.

For that matter, why make professionals dress in Adidas gear. Let's let them wear whatever they want. It's their money, their meet. The kids should be grateful they get a chance to get a cool uniform, a free trip and nice experience.

As stated, each athlete was given apparel, training shoes, and a pair of spikes. Only the uniform was mandatory. Yellow was for first year athletes and black was for returning athletes (from last Year's event). Most kids ran in something OTHER than Adidas spikes. Lukas ran in a new pair of Adidas but that was his decision. I would guess some things took place to help him make that decision but he was not forced to wear them.

Adidas did a great job brining in the athletes and a coach for three nights in NYC. They also had a banquet for the kids Sat night at a very nice restaurant and had Mo Greene and Jim Ryan speak.

All around, a world class weekend for the kids.
