Does anyone get reminded of Rudisha with Jocks form, and they look just like each other.

Amazing how many fast 800m runners we have in America right now.
well, kind of. we have some fast guys, but really, our guys need to be running 1:43s to be regular winners on the international scene. we're stacked at 1:44 though, at that suggests a lot of potential. could we see a US medalist in 2011 or 2012?

But a race is a race and you have to play with what you're given, when Jock takes it out in 48.9-49.1, you're just forced to go with.
Unless you're Robbie.
Rudisha probably has a Vo2 of 70+ ml/kg/min in addition to his 45.5 speed.
The man is practically a horse.
And comparing a 1:44.7 person to a 1:41.0 person is like trying to compare a 10.5 100m to a sub 10 100m. I'm not saying Jock doesn't have potential, but if he had run the race .1 smarter he would have won it.
And there are probably 10 guys in the world that will break 1:43 this year, maybe 1 american is in that.
You meant to say 1:44...right?
After NCAA's idiots have to try throwing Rudisha into the mix. Andrews sits on the back and rides himself to fast times. Rudisha is running for a nation that has seen great talent, but no real champion that has dominated like the Ethiopians have. Everytime the Kenyans think they have someone, they fade away. This is reality. Robby Andrews is doing everything right. Running 1:44 as a 20 year old gives me nothing but hope for the future of US middle distance running.
I like this kid. The look on his face after the win...priceless.

And would have broken the NCAA finals record held by a 1:43 guy who won a WC medal later in his career...and was a gold/silver favorite in Barcelona (DNF). Pretty good company to be in for both Andrews and Jock.
more impressed with Jock who ran a 1:45.77 in the semis and led a 1:44.75 effort. To me leading a 1:44.75 is more impressive than chasing down a 1:44.71...props notheless to Andrews!
give it up for jock. he's come further than all these guys since high school.

Explain.
Jock went out fast and lost. Still Andrews and Jock could be the Gray and Everett of this generation.

its a lot harder to run from the front than to chase...any runner would know that.
Also he expended more energy in the prelims and still came back strong. Last year Andrews ran 1:45.5 in the semis and only managed a 1:46 in the finals...hows that for comparison?
i agree, two of the best leading this young group of talent....if our USA 800 guys don't pick it up they may be watching their championship careers go down the drain quick
And to think six of those eight guys are coming back next year...

Oh okay thanks for letting us know pre.
just wait until Andrews moves up to the 1500
Why is everyone comparing him to Dave Wottle? He is the Yuriy Borzakowsky of our generation.
Did anyone else notice that the first person he thanked was GOD? I still have nothing but respect for this guy, but is he religious? Too bad...
Was I the only one that thought of Hulk Hogan as Andrews started thanking everyone? I thought he was going to go on about the prayers and the vitamins too..

And Greer ran like an ass at the finish, cutting right in front of Loxsom who was lucky not to go down.
Andrews veered in and cut off Greer, that's why Greer moved in himself. No big deal since it didn't affect the order of finish.
Watching this again, you're right. Robby came in more than I thought.
I got chills watching that race.
Something about watching Robby Andrews race.
He has great instincts and fierce competitiveness.
