because it's that easy to compare times and the difficulty of courses in two different states. don't necessarily count on the guys who ran incredibly fast now and expect to hold that form until the end of the season.

"though with Haverford we just might have to wait until nationals cus they won't face all that much D3 competition until then."
They will face Dickinson twice. They're a podium contender.
Big race at Oshkosh coming up this weekend. NCC, Calvin, WashU, nearly all of the UW's. A good majority of the top 30 will be there.
Weather is looking like sunny and high of 60 so should be a perfect day for racing on a fast course... What is it looking like for the team battle as well as the individual title. Are there teams coming in from other areas of the country because it is the national course?

MIT as well
LAX will not be there. They're hosting their own meet this weekend.
Berube for the win at Nationals. Only the second person ever under 25:00 at SLU (who hosts regionals apx every 4 or 5 years), and course record by 13 seconds. Not to mention winning the race by a minute.

This is starting to look like a Pre-UAA meet...
NYU men (described by one of their own as a "work in progress" a couple weeks back) ran really well against DI teams at Mets last week, despite keeping out their #1.
NYU women have good strength up front--if they get all their folks healthy and on the line (big if, however), they could be strong through five or six.

WashU over NCC in a close battle. Calvin will be closer points wise to NCC then they were at Notre Dame
MIT... They have a chance to show up and take on CALVIN, NCC, WASHU... best of luck to them
Agreed on MIT's potential to perform very well here Saturday.

Not to mention they run against Villanova twice on their home course. On top of that they ran in the gold race at the Paul Short Invite (they were 8 spots better this year than last years NC team) and run at Princeton this weekend. Their schedule never really changes from year to year so expect them to run as well at the end of the season as they have in years past.
Sorry forgot to mention:Competition is competition. Fast runners are fast runners. Who cares how much D3 competition they see? The schedule doesn't change much. Thus it is fairly easy to compare how good they are from year to year despite crappy weather conditions on the east coast.

oshkosh results:
NCC 49
WashU 137
Wheaton 154
Calvin 156
Oshkosh 158
UChicago 231
MIT 240
NYU 246
Things to take from the race: winds were gusting 30-40 mph at which slowed things immensely, especially at the start, Wheaton had the most surprising race going from the 9th ranked team in the MW to beating national #7 and #8 teams in MIT and Oshkosh, NYU and MIT did not look to have particularly good races which raises question marks in those regions, and Tim Nelson is emerging as a challenger to Lee Berube for top individual.
Wheaton ran very well and should make nationals judging by their performance. They could even place as high as 2nd at region depending on how other teams run. Nationals will be fun to see this year. NCC vs. Haverford rematch is what it's looking like it's coming down to.
Also throw Sathre into the race, as he just spanked all the Haverford guys and a handful of Ivy Leaguers at Princeton today, running 24:29 for the win in windy conditions.

Good race by NCC. I was suprised to see them finish the way they did.
Did wheaton bust their load for this meet? or will the truely put it together at the end of the season? they don't have an extremely good front runner that may hurt them.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
