Igy here are a few links.
I am 4 months into keto and honestly I feel pretty good. But I also believe the body gets used to changes and the benefits diminish. When I first went one meal a day I felt like 10 or 20 years younger then this slowly diminished. Still do 18 to 20 hours fasting and it is easy but my body is no longer tricked into doing a ton of autophagy which is why I felt so good. Autophagy is the key for getting rid of cellular waste. So enter Valter Longo. His fasting mimicking diet only tricks the body once every 4 months. So it seems to be a good one kinda like spring cleaning 3 times a year. However this one is dangerous for people over 60. I am considering cycling out of keto and time restricted eating to keep the body from figuring stuff out. The trick is tricky it is uncharted but this type of stuff interests me. I would only eat slow burning carbs less fat eggs and fish then do the fasting mimicking diet then keto with 4 months per flip. Anyhow I am sure this is way too much stuff;)

Inflamation caused by Insulin Resistance
IMO everyone over the age of 40 needs to get and use a blood glucose monitor . If your blood sugars are normal that means fasting and after eating then let it go for a year. Once a year do an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test as well at home pretty simple.
Carbs are great if you are NOT Insulin Resistant. Keto is a good choice for IR because you are drastically limiting carbs. The main biochemical pathway to get glucose into muscle and fat is fairly complex is called Glut4 which also can be activated via exercise . IMO Something about Aging causes many people end up with poorly functioning glut4 via insulin which really sucks.
