*Week 340*
Greetings from Reno, 50+er's! I really don't have a substantive report except to say that the kids are alright. They seem to have figured out this whole RV living thing and are getting along well here in the self-proclaimed "Biggest Little City in the World." Took a few days off after Club XC to finish up my classes and get ready for our trip out west. So I've only gotten 3 days and a woeful 12+ miles in for the week. A couple of 3-milers on Wed. (8:01/mi) and Thur. (7:20/mi, two miles hard) and then a 6-miler (7:45/mi) on Friday, all at 4400 ft alt. or so, which for this lowlander really had me sucking wind. Aside from seeing our daughter and her companion and all the adventures therein, I had the pleasure of joining "Reno" for the 6-mile run along the Truckee River (and adjoining neighborhoods.) It was an easy run for him, and I appreciate him humoring me and keeping the pace tolerable. I have to say that aside from the Casinos, this is really a nice area....although I would prefer a few more trees.
Thanks for the many race reports, really enjoyed reading them, especially from the Club XC crowd. Glad to read some positive experiences from your trip to the Bluegrass. And yes, Cush, I did come up and introduce myself about 40-minutes to race time or so, but you were and your team were laser focused on getting ready, walking over towards the white tent. Sorry I didn't get to talk with you post-race.
OK, that's about it for this week. This week probably will still be subpar, but hopefully we'll start ramping it up by the end of the week and on into the heart of the Holiday break. Any good adventures of your own to report?
All the Best!
