Does this mean his wife is now single? She seems nice.

Athletes don't die from jumping off a 13 foot balcony. Also, it is true that people are set-up for suicides when a high-profile person wants them dead.
I believe he was pushed off of his balcony by someone. His agent or someone said he spoke with him over the phone on the weekend in an article I read. It said that he was in very good spirits and his training was going well.. and his voice was calm.
If his balcony was only 6 meters high and he landed on his head and he had blood coming from his nose and mouth... We have to look at the height of the fencing of the balcony too... was it waist or chest high...
If he was jumping off the balcony to go after his wife.. how far out did he land from his balcony on the pavement?
I think someone is trying to cover things up.
Sammy was a cheater and a wife beater.

When they are drunk and they hit their head then they do.
Interesting, but not surprising that few, if any female posters have commented on the S.W. threads...
I don't know... My girlfriend tripped on a cracked sideway during our long run this weekend. She broke the fall with her head and face ending up with a concussion!
Totally freaky, but makes me realize that a first floor balcony can do it if you land right (wrong).
Wanjiru had apparently at some point in his life texted close friends saying he'd kill himself and yet this incident does not appear to be a suicide per se...

???? Never heard of this urban legend before. How does being "tense" or "loose" determine survival in a collision? Physics doesn't discriminate. The forces that cause broken bones, head trauma, or internal organ damage isn't mitigated by intoxication.
Shock absorption. Think about your cars shocks. Think about landing on a pillow versus landing on a cinder block.
Or momentum passage. Think about diving and rolling off of a moving vehicle vs trying to land on your feet.

Lets' hope to god you're not a physicist. Where's the 'pillow'? "Diving and rolling off a vehicle"? Huh?
The fall was not graceful, he landed on his head and messed himself up. The photos of his body show blood pooling behind his head and a bandage on his forehead. He also appears to have blood coming out of his mouth, nose, and ears. Definitely seems to be indicative of severe head trauma.
The question isn't whether it's possible to die falling from 10 feet. We all know that it is. The question is why the police are calling it a suicide. That's a ridiculous story that either they were told by someone at the scene or concocted themselves. That's why we are suspicious.
Conspiracy need not be a factor. It's no more paranoid to think someone is lying about the circumstances than it is baseless for others to speculate that he was drunk. At the moment there is no specific evidence of either.
OK, I'll think about a pillow - you read this.

And a "two star general"- a Kenyan term meaning that he had 2 wives, allegedly.

That site only allows me to read an excerpt.
Furthermore, it seems to be limited to car crashes. I am not talking about car crashes. I was responding to malmo's question about "tense" and "loose" collisions. If you cannot understand car shocks, pillow vs cinder block impacts, or diving and rolling vs solid tense landing on your feet from a car, then I am not sure what to say to you.

Where did you see the photos?

You don't even understand what you are trying to say, which makes it impossible for you to to explain to me a specious concept of "tense and loose" collisions.
You aren't talking about car crashes? Well that's exactly what I was responding to. Are you saying that if you are drunk and "loose" when you fall off a balcony the impact is any different than if you are "ridgid"? Please, as a physicist, explain it to us.
People get injured or killed in auto collisions because of 1) head trauma, 2) organ damage and 3) broken bones -- all of which are caused by rapid deceleration and the collapse of the passenger compartment. Being "tense" or "loose" is not going to change the damage caused by impact.
The sad thing is that people (myself included) are consumed with garbage. Just the fact that hundreds of these posts are filled with pointless conjecture about nothing.

Getting my first taste today of the Censorship I've read about here...
What exactly is the reason for deleting the comments:
The official tribute thread reads like the journal of a 12 year old girl. Of course it's sad that a great athlete died young, but people tramatized by it? A bit drama queenish.
Most of the people posting never saw him compete live, let alone met the man. It's tragic for him, his family and friends. For the rest of us it's hardly rising to the level of trama.
By deleting comments like the above, with no reason given, it just makes the webmasters appear even odder than the drama queens.
I've been posting here since 1996ish so I've read a lot of pointless posts. Very interested to know the guidelines for deletion.
The brojos like to hobnob with the elite. They get lots of interview time and such which benefits us all. Some of the elite runners and coaches even post here, as they undoubtedly believe they can inspire and benefit the runner community by doing so.
That said, if the forum has the level and tone of high school bathroom graffiti, those valuable contributors will leave, and the brojos lose their access to them. So you can understand why they need to manage it.
I agree with you that the censorship seems very arbitrary. It seems to be stricter on threads that may attract some of those "celebrity" posters which reinforces my point above. In many ways the censorship has gotten less strict. When Bush was in power it was strictly verboten to write anything negative about his administration - obviously the brojos were trying to defend their daddy's reputation. Now that it's the bad guys who are in charge the political threads are a free-for-all.
Bottom line is, forced registration is the only way to cut down on the BS. But for some reason they don't seem to be heading in that direction. I know I would certainly spend more time here, but overall it would probably mean fewer page views and hence fewer "impressions" for advertising purposes.
