Not just talking about the men's team but the women as well who traditionally do better than the men. Looks like UCSB is losing 3-4 of their top women next year and don't have much to replace the gap.

Not much to fill the gap? They have Barbara Nwaba (All-American heptathlete) and Irene Kujore coming back that red shirted this year.
Isn\\\'t that how it was after 2006? and after 2007? and so on? Yet UCSB seems to always reload somehow..
I should clarify, I was referring more to the distance runners. While UCSB had 3 in the top 20 at West Regionals XC this year, if I am not mistaken, all 3 of those runners are leaving. If you look at UCSB's recruiting classes a few years ago they were strong but all those runners are on the verge of graduating/leaving now and both on the women's and men's side (especially women's, who are in more dire need given they are losing some good runners) it seems like they are barely getting anyone.
Is it because Kelly MacDonald-Strong is at Cal Poly now, not to mention some good recruits at UCLA? Are these 2 schools the main schools nabbing recruits who may have otherwise gone to UCSB?
the Gauchos have almost 10 runner that return to their mens team with PRs in the 8k between 24:10 and 24 55.. two of which are freshmen. i think theyre still lookin pretty good but maybe im wrong

1:45 = super impressive. 1:50 = not top 8 at Big 12 or Big 10.

Those were some great races to watch! Thanks for posting. That 4x4 was ridiculous. Both of those guys are legit.
They should change the name of this site to Letshate.com. How in the world anyone can turn a thread about two guys going 1:45 in a conference meet into a petty negative thread is beyond me. Maybe Getalife.com is more fitting.
Are you serious? Then why didn't they win Big West this year in cross? I don't have the time to actually check that stat, but they never demonstrated that kind of depth at all last year.Either way, next year should be competitive - both CP and Davis have good freshman classes and Peterson is coming back next year. Should be good

The women did, but how can they win next year when they lose 3 of the top runners on the team...
look at fullerton invite, northridge invite, and conference... you'll see many sub 25s
that video was awesome! these guys could potentially go 1-2 at nationals if they run the same race. And Cory Primm with a pr of 1:45.7 from last year, we can potentially see the west go 1,2,3...awesome!!
California representing!
and who the heck cares about cross country right now... everyone is just starting there track seasons!
Seeing Martin, Jock, and Primm go 1-2-3 would probably the coolest thing, being a Californian myself. I think Martin can win nationals this year but if Jock can pull away by just enough, I think Jock can take it. Then again, who knows what Robby Andrews can do. Honestly, it looks like Martin has a better kick than Andrews.
You guys are forgetting that Jock has a faster PR. Martin has only ran 1:45 once, compared to Jock's 3 (2this season). Can never count Andrews out of anything and don't forget Samoei from Alabama who's ran 1:45 too this year. If I were to pick I'd say Jock will win being most consistent, Andrews if he decides to run the 800 not 15 and, then Martin who's a great racer. Primm and Loxsom seems to not run very well at big meets.
Btw, Andrews still has the best kick in the NCAAs it's gonna come down to him trying to chase down that lead group of Jock, Primm, Martin etc. And wether or not he moves early enough
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
