Princeton outkicked Arkansas and Indiana to win their first title in 71 years in the 4mile relay. Congrats to them!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Princeton won without Callahan or VanAckeren
If Indiana does it sans Bayer that is a hell of a statement.
Princeton runners and splits were the following
1st leg: Chris Bendsten (frosh) 4:08
2nd leg: Donn Cabral 4:02
3rd leg: Kyle Soloff 4:05
anchor: Mark Armirault 4:03
It was all over as soon as Amirault got the baton. With the stick in his hand everyone else was racing for second place. In all seriousness, gambling with Bendsten leading off won the race for Princeton. Gutsy call by Dolan that paid off big time.
That was a slow ass race!

I'll bet they're sorry they scratched now.
I mean that time would have won 2 out of the last four years. That was a great race.
where's all the "obviously arkansas or villanova" people at.. oh yeah thats right, no one on letsrun actually admits when they're wrong. hate to say i told you so, but...
I will weigh in here, as I thought Nova had a good shot, I did not think them the favorite as Princeton added better.
I never thought Arkansas was winning and if they had switched their legs they may have, as third legs were soft and Ulrey might have gotten up to beat an Amirault, and Phillips 4:05 might have been mitigated.
But great for Princeton, Arkansas did not get that much out of Phillips a 3:40 guy, this weekend. First they did not use him on 1200 on DMR which was a huge tactical mistake in my mind and then he only managed 4:05.x on anchor in 4 x mile.
In DMR he would have gone at least 2:56 not the 3:01 they got, and they lost by fractions, Billebrew could have gone 1:50.x which is what everyone else was running. The 800 legs were soft for sure as 1:49.x made up ground and that NEVER happens.
I thought Gibney who really went to the well to do what he did would have trouble if not connected and he was not, and looked flat all the way in his 4:07 leg.
Princeton went one relay only, and if you do not think that made a difference this weekend? You have no clue.
UVA could have won DMR , but put all eggs in one basket and needed every bit of it, and won.
PSU loaded 4 x 8 and did not go DMR either but they did run Loxsom and Foster yesterday.
In the past all the great teams , even ones that had depth and studs . never just went one way only. They used same guys twice at least.
I saw Mark Belger punch out 3 1:47's or better on one weekend a long time ago, all winners. DMR, Sprint med and 4 x 8. I am pretty sure about that.
Marcus, Paige and others ran at least two, Phil Kane, Marty etc.
UVA loaded one. It was kind of a really soft but productive decision, if Andrews had to go deep yesterday he may not have had it to beat Loxsom, who ran 46.3 yesterday.
Princeton loaded one relay.Their 4 x 4 went 3:08, so if they went Cabral, 400 guy, Dinkins and Amirault they would have been in that race also.
Great win for them.
great race...you guys should've seen princeton's celebration when they won...it was awesome.
side note..who else was there and saw fsu's guy(third leg?) with a LEGIT mullet???
