It was cold in NYC. Doesn't he have asthma issues?
You jerks need to stop criticizing the guy. He's had to change his plans more than once this winter and he comes back with a terrific half marathon performance. Just shut up already.

In the history of watching the sport, I have NEVER seen a pro runner where a mask.
It's just too much for me. Same with all the technology his group uses.
I don't have to root for him even though he is American.
I agree the mask was a bit overboard but the funniest part is when Rupp repeatedly looks around. Then it comes back to bite him as he runs into the Kenyan and takes a fall.
Galen and Kara ran fine races IMO.

+1
He falls and still comes back with one of the fastest half marathons ever run by an American, and you're criticizing him for what he wore?
Alright, Jesus goddamn f***ing christ. Who gives a shit what the guy wears, he runs fast, trains hard, and places well.
What are you? Some metro asshole? Who cares about fashion in running, besides apparently letsrun?
Been following the sport since Fleming went pro and it is the first time I saw a pro wear a facemask. Only reason I posted that is I wanted to hear about the newest Saladbar technology.
PS I'm far from a metrosexual. For me dressing up is wearing my one blazer with dark almost matching pants and don't know the difference between a Half Nelson and a Full Windsor let alone know how to tie a Shelby/Pratt
It was cold and allergies are pretty bad now in NY. If he has asthma issues the cold would hurt. He was out there running under 61 when you pussies were watching and bashing on your computers.
pics?

It wasn't cold and allergies are not bad
That mask was ridiculous. I hope it goes the way of those hoodie speedsuits.

Agreed. Allergy season in New York is at least a month away.
Never again mention German and Rupp in the same sentence. German hasn't done anything to earn the title 'prodigy'. I don't understand how Rupp falling, getting back up, and then proceeding to push the pace makes him a pussy? Please elaborate.

but now with his fall, he has a built in excuse as to why he didn't go 59mins.
sigh..between he and german. our two biggest prodigies are pussies.
Rupp looked like a knob
Personally, I am really impressed with Rupp today. Sure he looked ridiculous wearing that mask, but ran with guts. He fell, got back up, led the race at several points, and hung tough up until the final spring when obviously his legs didn't have it. A great time considering a 5 something first mile and a debut at the distance. Why don't you guys start focusing on how he runs not what he wears?
That mask was so ridiculous that even the gadget laden tri-geeks won't be wearing one any time soon.
either
NYC air is not Rupp certified
or
Rupp's face is not Rupp certified.
Maybe next time he'll wear a bhurka.

We should start looking for a narft certified course so you can achieve something worth mentioning.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
