so the best high schooler ever can make a div. 1 meet... i'd hope so... whereas probably 100 high schoolers can make the div 3 meet... respond, GO!
OK here you go...

2008 - 2 guys sub-15:00
2007 - 4 guys sub-15:00
Obviously a lot of top guys do the 2 mile at NON, but still, you had to run 14:35ish to get into D3 nationals this year. Here's the performance list:
http://www.tfrrs.org/lists/609.html?gender=m#62I seriously doubt that there are 33 guys in HS every year who can run sub-14:50 in the 5k. I won't even get into the 10k....
would you rather........
watch div. 1 woman
or
watch div. 3 men
and please say why, GO!
Do you think the reason D3 does not run a 3K is because it would be too easy to compare it to high schoolers?
I mean think about it,why pick an event where you have to convert times... just use the 1600 or 800, do you really think high schoolers would not drop times under 14:35 if they actually ran 5K's????? surely i think they could... so thats that mr. mcgrats peace up A town down...

why do you feel the need to troll the d3 thread? seriously. Are you insecure about your own abilities? Just go away. you are hating on your own sport, against people who have similar interests to you.
and btw, you could just look at the performance lists online as 3k is run a whole lot by d3 runners during the regular track season. so your point is invalid.
ok you win... who will win the D3 5K, i think midwestern sensations Mike Spain or Nick Kramer will pull it off... because they don;t peek early

Were you dropped on your head as a child?
anyone know where to find a live feed of the meet?
yeah, streaming live on NCAA.com.
Looks like it should be here (or at least linked from here ) starting at 5pm EST tomorrow.
Does the NCAA stream usually allow for replay? I will be traveling tomorrow but one of my good friends is running and I want to be able to watch prelims when I get home...

title niner wrote:Wrong, it is because, in all championships in NCAA specifically in DIII the number of participants or teams is based as a set percentage of those competiting within the division. Since many schools have to cap their men's rosters or boost their women's rosters to compensate for football etc, there are more women track athletes in DIII and therefore more spots given for nationals.
Incorrect. Regardless of the logic, it's wrong.

many of the girls are entered in multiple events
Correct. There are exactly the same number of female student-athletes competing at D3 Nationals as males. This is true for Cross, Indoor, and Outdoor.
Bro look at the last few years, it is always like that and no there are not enough girls doubling, to justify 4-5 more spots for women than men in every event. I have actually sat on a few committees that had legislation regarding field size come before them. It is the same reason why the D3 women's bball has a few more teams than the men. Sorry but you are the one that is incorrect as the doubling is more of a coinsidence.
According to the Indoor Handbook on Page 6 (9th page of the PDF) Regarding Number of particpating athletes. Look midway down the page.
The NCAA Division III Championships Committee has approved a qualifying procedure that allows for a
maximum of 223 men and 223 women to participate.
live feed not until 6pm?!?!?! :-(

Bro, I don't know what to tell you, except, you're still wrong.

good sir, this is truly excellent trolling! among the best i've seen!
Has anyone in the DIII Community seen the Direct TV Commecrial where the lawyer is reading to the family what they are going to be getting because someone died? The lawyer sounds like the DIII Meet Announcer....anyone else seen the commercial and think so?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
