They wont all get into nationals but thats a pretty solid core. they went 1-2-5-7 in a loaded Big 12 5k too

They're all back for XC next fall, right? Do they have a fifth man? What about six and seven?
I think they have at least 12 guys out for cross country, so, yeh, they have a fifth, sixth and seventh man.

Martin Smith certainly earns his money at Oklahoma.
What I meant by that was, Can they legitimately challenge Oklahoma State next season? I was not literally asking if they had more than four runners on their XC squad.
0/10

They're presently listed as #9,12,20,23 nationally in D1 by TFRRS.
I'd say Martin Smith can coach.
where the f did these guys come from? ive only ever heard of kevin williams from his high school years...
OU has more than challenged OSU, the Sooners beat them at the 2010 NCAA cross country regionals. Expect OU to beat OSU at regionals in 2011.

No one cares about Regionals except those teams that need it to qualify for Nationals. OSU won Nationals. Will OU finish in the top three next season? Top two? This is what I want to know.

SOONERS FTW!!!
I don't think I have ever heard of Alex George before. Where is he from?
They'll definitely be tough in cross, they've got some pretty solid guys to fill in their #5-7 pack if they come along. Maybe they won't win it all, but they should be capable of finishing top-5/10.
His name is George Alex. Ran HS in Phoenix AZ, 3200 PR of 9:20 in HS
I wonder what the response is going to be in Eugene (and Beaverton) when Martin Smith finishes ahead of the Ducks. Could be this year by the looks of those indoor 5000 times.
Sooners for the WIN! I think its awesome that the program is building! And Smith didn't just buy the athletes. He has taken kids and developed them quite miraculously!

you mean what has been the response? Oklahoma kicked oregons ass at cross nationals this year! especially with oregon basically scoring four since luke scored one point!!
I dont care if they win NCAAs next year, what Martin Smith has done is more impressive.
Dave Smith won with some of the most talented distance recruits in the US (including the fastest ever over 2 miles) and foreign talent. There are tons of sub 9 kids on that roster that dont do squat. On top of that, all their money is in distance.
Oklahoma won the Big 12 last winter and was second to A&M this winter, so clearly they take all the seasons seriously and dont put all their money into distance. They have the top 60m runner in the country currently. On top of that, like was pointed out, they are doing it with kids most people had never heard of until college. That is more impressive to me and I am not bias towards the Sooners or the Cowboys, its just the truth. Because they can be a top 10 xc program with no superstars on the xc team and still have a track program that produces athletes like Ronnie Ash.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
