Well that is the essence of Wrastling isn't it?
I just assumed....
Why else would you suffer someone's johnson folded up in your face?
I know numerous women who would easily handle the average joe in a fight.
If you doubt it, think of those women who run 11 flat for 100 meters or long jump 22+ feet or throw the shot put 60+ feet.
They are fast, strong, highly coordinated, and - some of them - very tough. If they put all those qualities into fighting, they won't match up well against men with those qualities, but they would clean the floor with the many a guy.
Northrup, the fifth-ranked wrestler at 112 pounds, still could win a state title, but must advance out of the consolation round. He won his first consolation match 9-0 by major decision against Sam Jameson of Glenwood.

He's still in it - and probably expects her to be out of it if he gets out of the consolation round.
He's a home schooled son of a preacher man...
I saw Margita Gummel throw over 60' in the 1972 Olympics.
She was a nasty piece of work. The thing I remember is her armpits. Like a black floor mop.

He did what he felt was right by his upbringing. There's no faulting him for that. You may disagree with him that Wrestling is a combat sport or whatev, but he's behaving in a manner that is consistent with his faith and his values. Whether you would wrestle the girl or not, more people should be willing to stand-up for what the believe in, even if it comes at a great personal sacrifice.
More people should be willing to consider the validity of their reasoning and actions, even if it means breaking the traditions that morons have carefully cultivated.
If your faith and values are dumb and ill-conceived, then "standing up" for them isn't admirable. It just makes sure you are publicly identified as an idiot.
my question is what the FU@K is a girl wrestling in the same league as the guys? is she on the football team also?
i wouldn't have wrestled her either, clearly a no win situation. would you really feel like a state champ if you pinned a girl in 4 seconds? you would probably just feel like an a-hole when she goes limping back to her coach with her head down seeking medical assistance
i'm not against equal rights, but there is a line damnit

What makes his views not valid? Hes been taught not to fight women- is that so wrong? How is it stupid to teach men to not try to hurt women?

Sounds judgemental.
One of his beliefs seems to be to keep fit, wrestle, and keep your hands of women's lady parts until you're mature enough to understand the consequences.
I don't think that is dumb and ill-conceived. How about you sharing your stupid beliefs?
Oops sorry, they've been quoted above.... My Bad.
I wrestled 2 girls my freshman or sophomore year in high school. I was so afraid that if I didn't pin them in under a minute that I had have to leave my school in shame.
Fortunately I did win both matches in under 35 seconds.

He did not.
For a homeschooler to be that legit in a state like Iowa, that's awsome. But for a chick to make it to state in Iowa! Let's just say this, she would probably pin everyone posting here. Iowa is legit for wrestling
So think the more important question is how she does! anybody who wrestled very long growing up had to wrestle a girl here and again, and I don't ever remmber anyone making that big a deal of it. So I hope that guy loses in the next match.
The boy is protesting against demented Title 9 unisex, which is based on a delusional refusal to recognize the differences between the sexes. Imagine, wrestling matches between boys and girls as a sport. That anyone can take it seriously is amazing. Only a civil tarts lawyer or feminist professor could conceive of it. It is part of a national campaign against male sports, denying overwhelming male physical superiority in most athletic pursuits.

Apparently, he's at least as stupid as you are.
His views are internally contradictory. It can't have anything to do with his religion or faith, because, if he is worried about groping having some sort of sexual connotations, then he is in an even worse position by constantly being willing to grope guys. Religions (especially ones that are prevalent in households that choose to homeschool in Iowa) hate homosexuality even more than premarital sex.
If we are going to ignore that portion of his statement, and just focus on the "values" portion, then we can say that it is highly likely that one of his values is sexism, or at the very least, that violence towards men is reasonable.
I'd argue that we aren't talking about "fighting" women. We are talking about an organized and rigorously judged athletic competition that both of them have been competing in all year. But lets say that, since he is a troglodyte like you, that he takes the view that it is "fighting" whenever he competes. Then the only conclusion that I can draw is an implicit one that says violence is alright as long as it is committed against your own gender.
Either way, we end up with an individual who is some combination of brutish or moronic.
Most men would pay for an opportunity like that

It is "(Your) Bad"... These are exactly the sort of conclusions I would expect you to draw as long as you were so breathtakingly stupid that you would type an answer without thinking about the subject. Please see my above response, and also, in reference to my prior post, please explain how you think that standing up for partially considered thoughts that you choose to label "values" or "faith" is an admirable thing.

The kid doesn't want to throw a girl around on the mat. Nothing wrong with that. People have views. Some differ from yours. Have an open mind.
I went to HS in the early nineties and even then we had a girl on the wrestling team. She was pretty good; no shame in losing to her. She was also pretty. A cool girl.
I didn't wrestle but had some good friends who did wrestle. They said that in the wrestling world, you might get a little shit for losing to a girl but that if she was good no one really thought anything of it.

Some people have views that races of people should all be killed. I suggest that you have an open mind about these, even though they may differ from yours.
I don't remember who I'm misquoting right now, but your mind is so open your brains have fallen out.
Yeah, because killing everyone and not wanting to hit a woman are on the same level.
