Have yet to hear of a time for Jimmy Carter. Curious to know.
He earned a dnf for this race:
http://www.wikirun.com/Jimmy_CarterOn September 15, 1979, Carter ran in the Catoctin 10K as one of 900 runners. It was the only time that the United States President had competed in an open road race. He was accompanied by Secret Service agents who ran by his side. However, he had not properly trained for the hot and hilly course and collapsed from heat exhaustion while climbing a hill.
John Krasinski (of Office, a few random movies) was captain of my high schools cross country team. He ran in the high 17:00s in the 5k.
Clancy Brown who played Captain Hadly in the Shawshank Redemption as well as the voice of Mr. Krabbe on SpongeBob Squarepants thru the shot and discus in high school. Supposedly he did in college also.
I heard Sting, of the group Police was a pretty good 100m runner. 10.7 or something like that. Could be wrong.
As much as I hate to write this, George Bush run something like 2:50 in the marathon and 37min 10K. It was something where, I said to myself, not bad, so I could be off just a little.
George W. Bush ran a ~2:50 marathon
Al Gore ~4:00 marathon
George Patton was in the Olympics in the military pentathlon, which involved a cross-country running section.
Singer Johnny Mathis was a good high jumper in college - I think he went to San Francisco State.
Bush ran 3:44, not 2:50.

Not sure about Gore.
Mikuláš Dzurinda, former Prime Minister, and current Foreign Minister of Slovakia has been running Marathons since 1986, while he was still in post-graduate studies, and has a PR of 2:54.
Brady Dougan, current CEO of Credit Suisse (one of the top global banks), ran a 2:20 marathon. He still runs almost every day.

Gore ran a 4:56
Dukakis ran a 3:31
Actor & dweeb Edward Norton ran NY in 3:48. He announced beforehand that he intended to beat Sarah Palins marathon time of 3:59. So hes a 40 year old guy trying to beat the time of a 46 year old female. Wow.
I ran the Seattle marathon today, and had announced to the world that I intended to beat the Norton time. And I did, handily so, despite being much older than Norton, and running on an injured foot that cut into my training.
Novelist Haruki Murakami runs marathons, 3:30 PR. Even wrote a book about it.
Darryl Waltrip (three time NASCAR Champion, now commentator) had a high-school record for KY, either 880 yds or 600 yds.
Matthew Parris (British MP) ran a 2:32 at London while an MP. He believes that his MP record will stand for quite some time.
Daniel Boone. I seem to remember a story of him running some long distances through the night.
Cilian Murphy(28 days later, Batman Begins, Sunshine) apparently puts in 40 mile weeks cause he enjoys it. Viggo Mortensen loves to run, though he is primarily an amatuer soccer player, Rudyard Kipling was an avid runner, and woody allen was on varsity in high school.
Alice Cooper
Van Halen's son
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
