I finished up my eligibility last spring at DII school, but am a graduate assistant for my former team. I have been running the same workouts as the guys on my team and have been running 90-100 mpw just about every week since August. I have no more xc races to run and have been thinking about racing a 3k in a december track meet. My 1500 pr is 3:56 but my 3000 pr is only 8:58.
So the set track race is December 17 about 7 weeks away and I am planning on doing the workouts with the team the next 3 weeks. How would you drop your miles to run the best race I can? What types of workouts would you do? What would you do about a break after the December race?
