How was it?
How was it?
Windy
How about as far as the coach and program go?
Dude by the name of Brandon Fuller ran there. He was a stud.
Alicen Maier. All else is a hazy blur.
Ellensburg is a drunken pothole of a town, and the running is ass - cold and windy.
If you're looking at DII in Washington I suggest WWU - ranked top10 this year IIRC, and they often finish well. West Regionals are in Bellingham this year so that'd be an excellent chance to scope around. Beautiful town with many trails.

Pretty sure Branden Fuller ran for Eastern Washington, not Central Washington.

how is it going kevin?

I have a >3.5 GPA and didn't get in to Western. Also have run <15:10 and the coach won't give me the time of day. Western is by far my #1 choice but I keep running into brick walls.

Yep, very drunken and very fun. Eburg is a great place. The trail running is super legit. Try Manastash for a quick spin or for a longer trip take Manastah up Cle Elum Ridge. You'll become a monster.
Those pussy WWU kids in Bellingham are too busy drinking tea, discussing emotions and tie-dying everything in sight to handle the Eastern Cascades.

If this is actually true then the coach is an idiot for not giving you the time of day.
Shit is WWU that high class? I applied in 2005 with a 3.61 and got in, but didn't attend; I re-applied in 2009 with the same GPA and did not get in. I got into UW instead.

You're running into brick walls because the coach there is a dbag. He has committed himself to not only not recruiting, but ignoring prospective athletes' inquiries. From my understanding, you basically have to smack the guy in the face to get him to realize you exist. It's definitely a better school to run at than CWU, but I don't know how much stock you want to put in a guy that flat out won't acknowledge someone who has interest in the program.
FOUR LOKOOOOOO
Why not check Wazzu? D-I, Pac-10, great coach, great school. I'm sure they'd love to have a sub-15:10 guy.

raul pretty good!
To OP: Halsell is shooting himself in the foot by turning you down. Past Welling (a 14:30i guy), they look shaky for depth. Are you coming from HS or transferring? I encourage you to persist! Western isn't an academic powerhouse.
WSU is weak, another drunken pitstop; moreover 15:10 means a LOT less in D1. Why not run for a top10 D2 team in a town w/ 4x the population and 4x the culture?
Go to pretty much any other school in the GNAC. Western Oregon is affordable and a good program. Better running than Central. NNU is on the bubble of making it to nationals this year and have a lot of young guys. UAA makes nationals most years and always has a small roster and needs more depth. SPU could use you but they don't have a very good training group right now.
