secondly, as they get further into their careers ncaa xc becomes less important till it doesn't mean crap. German is more accomplished and has more upside in the 1500, 3000, 5000. The races elite runners make a living off of.

I wish them both well, but sharper minds will realize that Derrick needs to make unheard of improvements if he wants to even make a US national team in the 10,000. Fernandez, on the other hand, has to make incrimental improvements in the 1500 and he as on the plane to London. But who knows, maybe derrick might sniff an NCAA title some day.
