a 25:36 will hardly get into the top ten
Top ten of what?
nationals idiot
Why does he need to even be in the top ten for shawnee to finish in the top 3 as a team? You're argument is retarded...just don't throw out things, back them up with why you are saying them and what your conclusion is. Otherwise I can't fire back.
looking at the facts:
Shawnee State 4th 09 nats
1 21 Corey Culbertson 25:45
2 38 Galen Dills 26:06
3 48 Shane Meyer 26:14
4 56 Josh Linkous 26:20
5 66 Tyler Hickey 26:25
6 ( 99) Chuck Wentz 26:44
7 (116) Michael Owen 26:59
One guy under 26 and he's gone. 5 man was a senior he's gone. so lets take out 21 points for 1 man and 66 for five man. so that moves 38 place to the 1 man and 99th to the 4 man and 116 to the 5 man. that adds 128 points to the score. bumping shawnee state down to a tie for 10th.
Keegan Rathkamp is returning for Shawnee State? He started his collegiate running career in 2004 with Cincinnati. Has he taken so much time off from school when he hasn't been running collegiately that he still has eligibility?
With or without him, there is no doubt in my mind that Shawnee State will be competing for top 3. They have quite a bit of depth and some of their runners obviously had a bad day at Nationals last year.
I could go WAY more in depth, with the athletes attending other schools. How their School fail 35% of the time to get the kids graduated. Also on how they fail to meet the NCAA's academic progress almost 25-35% of the time. Do some research. Typical Letsrunner of ohio.

Used to be a fan of the NAIA, but the new qualifying system is a complete and utter joke, an embarrassment to any school affiliated with it. Can't wait until the whole association is dismantled.
Pullupman,
Looks like you are the smartest guy in the country in terms of NAIA rankings...You said SSU shouldn't even make Nationals this year. Seems like I thought they should be in the top 3 and for some reason the rest of the country's coach's/rater's have agreed with me. I know it's a long way from Nationals but it definitely looks like I knew what I was talking about. Nice try though.
Oh Yeah! wrote:

I am a rater and I can tell you that you are an idiot if you think a pre-season ranking actually means anything. I am not saying you are wrong about SSU, but you look really dumb using a preseason ranking to support your argument. At this point, we don't know crap about any team and the preseason ranking is a joke. We have to base it on what coaches tell us and do you really think they are going to tell us that they are going to suck? Based on preseason reports, no team lost any key athletes and they all signed the next national champion. Now knowing that, you rate them. Ha ha! If I had it my way, there wouldn't be a ranking until mid to late september when teams have actually run a race.
Out!!
thanks for beating me to that point.... and actually no rating means anything. the only thing that matters is how you finish at nationals. take in point So. Oregon going in ranked #1 last year.
Malone will win, easy.
I really don't see Malone winning easily. They will have a good 3-4 guys. Melhorn, Zuech, Meeson, Miggs. But they will be really hurting for a 5th guy and I think people at malone would agree. SS is going to have good team returning 5 out of 7. I would also be intrested to see in Southern Oregon and Azuza could do something. Didn't Azuza get an absolute stud from footlocker or something. So I don't expect malone to pull of an "Easy" win. If the wheels fall for Zuech or any one of the top 4 they are done. does anyone disagree?
Hi, I usually read Letsrun and I do look at the message boards obviously. I do run for Malone, but I am not going to talk about my school, or any guys on the team. SSU should have a good group of guys, as I ran a few times over this past summer with a runner from their team. All the members of that team are willing to put 110% into their training. I would say having Shane Meyer, Micheal Owen, and Galen Dills back will most certainly help. As all of those guys work their tails off. Azuza will have Abednego Magut would was 4th? last year at nationals. Wade Meddles was the footlocker finalist "9.10 3200 time" who will come in and help Azuza right away. Also look for J.J. Timphony to have a solid year! Southern Oregon will have Dave Laney leading the way after a 7th place finish last year and Dennis McCaffrey placing 31st.
Polls can be helpful but every course is different. So it should be interesting to how things play out. For it's that one day in November that counts. Good luck to all the teams this year!
nice.
Any teams race this past weekend?
I know that many are slated to start this next, but there always seem to be a few that get going a little earlier.
Good websites to view weekly results?
I found this site to be very helpful last year in track. Hope they do just as good for xc.
Any surprises today in the NAIA?
