Get Real Real went to Oregon, which is not a good school.
As cesspools go, this is an incredibly popular cesspool.
What's missing here, by and large, are the sort of educated threads about training methods and philosophies that are archived at the top of the forum--the Carolina Runner threads. Hadd, Renato, Tinman, Daniels: they all used to chime in, and that stuff was incredibly interesting and educational. We get little of that now. (There's more at Tinman's RunZone forum.) That's too bad. But this place still has its virtues. It's not a cesspool, it's a locker-room. Locker-rooms serve a need. Ideally, it would be more than that, and is HAS been more than that in the past, and that's the problem.
Do we speak of "letsrun.com", or "letsrun.com/forum"?
The main page is a great centralized resource for a lot of running related events and results.
The public discussion forum, unfortunately, is a representative cross-section of the real world. Some people are great, and the others, well, they are what they are.
I didn't browse the forums in early days, when training threads were popular. But since many are archived and ca be searched, once all the great training threads have been written, what's the point of regularly re-writing them? And once you've read them, what else are you going to do? Why not participate in a global warming discussion, or talk about Pink Floyd, or debate about whether Obama or Bush Jr. was worse for America?
I like our cesspool. I browse the TAFN message boards every once in a while, but I don't like that much censorship.

Don't worry, you are safe here...
You're right, I am safe here in your community, as well as in my community thanks to the Sheriff's Dept., and in my home thanks to my husband, and at work thanks to my amazing, supportive co-workers and their connections, and in small towns on the Oregon Coast thanks to the officer at that Mexican Restaurant. People look out for me. Most people know the difference between good and evil instinctively.
So you go ahead and keep selling your friends and loved ones down the Willamette with all your lies and perversion. I'm good.
BTW- I'm pretty sure Cornstalk *knows* you, and I was impressed with the lovely Ms. K's assessment of you (I liked her very much FWIW). I've found plenty of common ground related to your cognitive functioning with those two and others.
I also find it hard to believe that you're thinking as clearly these days as you suggested. You seem oblivious to the expanded demographics of your viewing audience since that March stunt of yours backfired. And based on your recent posts and beach-stalking activities, I'd say you've got a long way to go toward a clear head.
And for goodness sake, why is your social security number flying around all over the interwebbypool? Are you under investigation too? Better get that taken care of...
(See, there I am helping you out again...sigh.)
