Has anyone tried it? The website I read gave a few success stories but I was wondering if anyone could give me a more detailed insight on their personal experience.

You mean you're thinking about applying to take the place of a crash dummy? Otherwise, I have no idea what you're getting at.
I will paraphrase Gordo Byrn: Crash training appeals to almost everyone, but is appropriate for almost noone.
Have to say I'm tempted. My family will be out of town for a week - I'm thinking about just going medieval on the training for a week.
Something on the running bucket list, you know.

Perhaps we should email Noone and ask for his opinion.
I agree!
my OP don't do it. what's the two words after crash? and burn.
Try 800m hill repeats if you want to get into shape fast.
Went from 35 to 105 miles in a week before XC my senior year. I was dead for a week and a half afterwards and developed a high ham injury mid season.
However, I reaped the reward at the end of the season and crushed it the following track season. If you're prone to injury, DON'T DO IT. I got away with it because, for whatever reason, I never got injured in college with the exception of the above symptoms.
Definitely was one for the running bucket list.
I agree with this. I'm not an injury prone guy so I can make 50 mile a week jumps and not get hurt(provided I've been there in previous years). Whereas some of my teammates breakdown from a 10 mile jump.
This is the only instance of an elite runner doing this that I could find.
