Hello guys and gals, I need your help in determining if I am in the wrong. I have been pushing my one year old child in a baby jogger on the local biking path. Now there is a separate path for walkers, joggers, runners, etc., which I gladly run on when I am not pushing the baby jogger. However, the bike/roller blade path is smoother, wider, with a lot less traffic and everybody is required to go the same way. So instead of fighting through 50-70 runners or walkers every morning (often in packs), I have opted to just push the jogger on the bike path in the right direction and make a formidable effort to leave ample room for the 5-10 bikers that tend to pass me. And FYI, the bike path has a posted speed of 10 mph, which of course, nobody pays attention to. I probably run 8-9 mph most mornings unless I am still drunk. Also, there are signs posted, if you don't have wheels beneath you, you are on the wrong path. I know I don't technically have wheels beneath me, but the child can't exactly push the stroller.
So, without fail, once a morning I get yelled at or passive aggressively addressed by some biker riding by me at 15-20 mph about how I'm on the wrong path. Am I in the wrong on this or can I just continue to yell "slow down" back at them? And seriously, I am very conscious of my place on the trail. The only time a biker would even have to slow down slightly would be that once a month chance where two bikers are trying to pass at the exact same time.
