I'll start by saying that I'm training for a 50 mile race, which I know you folks aren't real fond of, but I have a question I'm sure someone will have an opinion on.
The race is August 7. I've been training hard the the past few weeks, with mileages of 53, 57, and 64 miles. Most of my runs are at about 7:30 pace. I ran a marathon as a volunteer pacer last sunday in 3:30, and did 22 the next day and felt pretty good.
I've done 78 miles in the past 7 days and am feeling strong. Things ache but I don't have any real pain from anything. My question is, should I call it good and chill out a bit, start tapering? Or should I try to pack in a few more miles over the next week or so?
