He probably did 3 x mile, 200's and some drills afterwards...saving his energy for beating the Africans.

Rupp is a big pussy. Give me a freaking break. You're the best in the field by over a minute; go out there and show it. You're on a different planet than the guys in that field; watching you sit on them is damn near embarrassing. Quit being a big pussy, Galen. You suck.
Riiiight. So if I go enter a local 5k and I know that no one else in the field can run under 20 mins, would I be a big man for putting the hammer down and running a 16:30?
Pre would
He's a little ***** for sitting and kicking. He's the same for leading a fast race and getting out kicked. Interesting. Last I checked he is a multiple NCAA Champ, USA Champ, Olympian, and 2nd fastest 10k and 5K indoors ever in the US. What's it take to impress you?
Sometimes you run to win, sometimes you run for time. Championships are run for place. Diamond league (Next week at PRE) are run for time and if they can hang on, then place. Winning USA Champ doesn't have an asterisk beside it because the time was slower than the guy could have run.
Should Scott Bauhs place be changed because he had a bad day and could clearly have run faster? NO! Just as Rupp's place is what it is no matter what the time.

Something other than what I saw last night. There's definitely some middle ground between how he raced last night and running his brains out all alone.

I'm anything but a Rupp Fanboy, but some of you are absolutely out of your minds. He won the freaking race. He was going to win it no matter if it went 27:30 or 37:30. He didn't kill himself for Pre. What do you want, one or our nation's top distance stars to drag along second-tier (no disrespect intended) guys so they can PR at the national championships?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
