With all the talk on Rupp and other goings on this weekend I can't believe there hasn't been a little more hype on the 1500 record attempt on and OOOOOLD record held by Sydney Maree.
3:35.3 doesn't seem that far out of reach considering that Centro ran 3:36 last year and he may not be the best 1500 college guy in the race with Wheating and Emanuel listed. Throw in Acosta for good measure (looked great at Penn) and this race should cook. I bet Fleet is itching to be in this but I guess he needs a break to be his best at NCAA's.
Anyhow I think Wheating is long overdue for a PR at 1500 and thinking back to his 3:38 from 2008 he looked ready for 3:36 then in my mind if the pace was faster.

Emanuel will be there for sure and with his long push he should keep it on pace if the early race is moving. Lee likes the 500-600 kick, centro the 300-350 and wheating the 100-200 kick.
With the other talent in the field this to me suggest about as good of an opportunity as you can get (hayward field fans with an NCAA record on the line!) weather permitting.
So top college guys:
Wheating 3:34.97
Centro 3:35.23
Emmanuel 3:36.82
Acosta 3:38.78
