From an article describing upcoming Canadian-made western movie Gunless, set in some nameless random western Canadian town:
"When the local blacksmith takes the trouble to shoe his horse, unasked, The Kid accuses him of horsethievery and challenges him to a gunfight. Trouble is, the only pistol in town is short of parts, and he’ll have to wait until they can be ordered in...."
The difference between your gun culture and our non-gun culture has always been a puzzle to me. I don't know too many people, other than hunters, collectors and competitive shooters, who own guns. Our country has wrestled with the idea of "gun control" but I think most people don't really see any need for it, since guns aren't really much of a problem up here.
It boggles my mind that someone would want to run with a gun, or even pack a concealed weapon under any circumstances.
I'm not anti-gun, I just don't get it.
