wow..thanks to whoever used my name earlier^ haha. anyway, thanks for all the input everyone. just to clear things up, i am not dead set on attending UO, it is just one of many schools i am considering, including most schools in the UC system, Santa Clara University and USC. As for what I want to study, I'm not positive yet; however, some fields that I might be interested in are Psychology, Law, and Marketing. oh well, at least i've got some time to decide...haha
You might look up the ducks' rating in US News and World Reports's "Best Colleges". UCLA, USC, and UC Berkeley are ranked #20-26. Stanford is considered by many around the world to be the best University in the world.
Oregon is ranked....#115. They are ranked BEHIND Howard University, the Univerty of Oklahoma, and U Dayton. Think about that. You could improve your academics by going almost ANYWHERE else. You could only do worse if you picked some University with a really disgusting reputation, like LSU.
As for that "honors college," why do you think they have that? Does Harvard, Stanford, or MIT have need for an "honors college"? Uo has that because the whole place is a bunch of dumbasses and they need something for the few people there who can actually read, write, and chew bubble gum.
As for Jordan Hasay, has the considered that she would have an NCAA XC title right now if she was smart enough to go to the University of Washington?
