i'm super time strapped and have gone from running 60-70 miles per week (normal mix) to now running about 20-35 (almost all high intensity and hills). this has been going on since october. after 4 weeks i came within 95 seconds of breaking 3 hours in the marathon. i want to build back up for another race and hope to break the barrier this time.
before i start a program i am wondering how much of that good aerobic base is lost (heck, my long runs are now 6 miles), and if anyone has any experience with this kind of switch over. any good training advice? i think i have the time management now to build back into the range of 50 per week.
thanks.
