I used to run D1 XC/track, and one of the great perks was the free custom orthotics. I love my orthotics. I used to have problems with stress fractures, and orthotics were a major piece of the answer to these injuries. We replaced them every two years, and I got a new pair my 5th year. This last pair I've been running in for almost four years now, and now I'm starting to get problems - like PFPS in one of my knees.
I'm sure it's time for some new orthotics, but now that I'm footing the bill I was wondering if anyone's made the transition from super-nice custom ones to the kind you make yourself in the oven? I used to get the kind that they make from a plaster cast of your foot, and they're super hard - not cushioned on top.
Thanks!
