5th is better than 5 other teams that everyone on this board gives a free pass to when bashing Karen Dennis. The year they were 5th, it was only sprinters and one thrower. Her area absolutely carries the track team.

What year?
To the moron who said Ohio State placed 5th just with Dennis' sprinters (... and ONE thrower):

This one athlete (NON -sprinter/thrower) score 1/6th of their points. I suppose Dennis coached HER. too?
(also 2 points in the long jump).
The HJ'er was indoors.
OK start your own thread about OSU. Who cares what your opinion is of Dennis or the Big 10 or OSU....We only want facts about jobs.

Looks like outdoors to me. Also looks like Dennis is a horrible coach!
Thanks for the info on the EIU situation. Sorry to see those guys go. I thought Tobler and Masanet were great guys and good for college track. I wish them well.
Who is in at Eastern Illinois?
When do the EIU coaches leave....are they staying for the rest of the season? Or are jobs opened now?
OK, I get the Tulane rumor now. I asked around and heard the same. Tough campus and climate for distance and primarily a women's program. Plus they are totally rebuilding after Katrina, and that's not attractive to all coaches. Seems like a gem to me.
The OSU women were 5th when it was at Illinois outdoors(Dennis's 2nd year).

2006 at Michigan State University
Get over yourself...your name comes up for shit jobs! Anyone ever call you for an SEC/BIG-12/PAC-10 job. Enjoy THE OSU, its all you got
Nobody ever confused Jack or Stinzi or Anderson for great coaches either. Dennis is just bad.
Don't take my word for it. Come to the OATCCC coaches clinic in Columbus in 2 weeks and ask how many high school coaches would let any of their kids go run for her. Don't be surprised when you come up with zero, zip. zilch.
When the contract is up she is outtie.
Dennis will stay, but not because she is a good coach.
When does her contract end?
I wish all I could be offered is Head position at THE Ohio State University!
So back to the original title of COACHING OPENINGS? What do people think will happen at Illinois. People should realize how good of a position this is. Great history, in the sprint-weak Big 10, and a super State that has been ignored for almost 20 years!
Turk and Wendell are fine for the assistants, but we need a high-profile sprints head. Don't want to see combined program because the men's program almost always pays the price of having less scholarship (12 against 18).
Yeah that combined stuff never works out.

If you are black and a female you may be in luck.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Guys between age of 45 and 55 do you think about death or does it seem far away
