I vote for Portland Runner for the humor, and Renato Canova for the training advice.

There was one poster a few years ago that had some pretty funny threads that indirectly related to running, but were more often just some outlandish story about fighting. I think his name was Sexually Ambiguous Streetfigther or something like that. His time on here was brief but memorable. I wouldn't be surprised if S.A.S. was an alter ego of someone still on here.

I found the thread that gained S.A.S instant fame.

Post your votes here
Best:
Malmo -- The best on-topic and off-topic poster here. Wins hands down.
Portland Runner -- Easily the funniest poster ever here. Dude, where the hell are you?
JEH -- You should make a comeback too brother.
Worst:
Anyone who doesn't post. Post brothers and sisters, post!
Not nearly enough votes on here for Hadd, my personal favorite.
There were some promising young American LR posters this decade, but frankly none of them could compete with the LR posters of the '70s and early '80s. It was a whole different culture back then. They didn't need all of the technology that we have now -- they just went out and posted.
Early in the decade there used to be twin brothers from Indiana (Kurt and ?) who used to get on here, pick fights with everyone and swear at them. Those guys were awesome. I'm pretty sure that Kurt challenged someone to a fight online, to be fought after NCAA Regionals once.
I nominated spelling and grammer yesterday. Today, that nomination is gone. What greater mystery lurks here? Was spelling and grammer forced off? Was he (she?) an alter ego of one of the Brojos? Now I'm really curious!
Okay, so I just really miss reminders that how we say things really does matter.
Henry Rono- how awesome is it to see a post by that guy.

Weldon disagrees with you, In fact, he once proposed a full-fledged ban on people who correct spelling or grammar without adding any real substance to the thread. It's a shame that it was never implemented!

the Wayton brothers, I think. Geoff? might have been the other one. They were funny but such obnoxious rednecks. They were on t-and-f server even before letsrun where Grote and Schiefer made their debut before they start rungroteschief and the other site which escapes me right now. tandfmedia maybe?
At first I was going to come on here and point out the irony in the fact that a guy who hides behind any number of monikers, including Seriously?, Lamar L.A.S.T word, Congratulations..., Added Perspective, and any of his other numerous aliases, felt the need to go out of his way to malign me in a backhanded fashion under the pretense of my condescension toward FW (Flagpole and I haven't had a good joust in awhile frankly). And this on a thread seeking best poster nominations, not "I adamantly disagree with your nomination" nominations. Perhaps said poster should've instead nominated me on a "most effective at getting under his thin skin" thread. Frankly, I've never claimed to be the most humble, intelligent, best looking, fastest poster on here. Just trying to provide some fodder... that's it.
In the meantime, I decided to leave it be, thinking it not worth my time, only to come back and see the post was pulled, bringing up serious questions about censorship on this site (not to mention the misdirected intimation about who is pulling posts or requesting such). I agree that casting anonymous aspersions reflects poorly on a person's character, and, as a general rule, should be scrutinized and perhaps deleted, but people that render criticism in such backhanded fashion only tend to undermine themselves over the long haul.
Anyhow, back on topic:
1.) Avocado's Number, because he's one smart dude, ALWAYS makes a compelling, provocative, well-articulated argument, whether I agree or not.
2.) Carnivore 69 - may have understood the financial 9/11 that befell us and its concomitant ramifications better than anyone here.
3.) Mtn Dew - because he has a firm grasp of economics and football, a rare combination.
4.) BRM - great edification, understands the threats to our Republic, does his homework.
5.) May come as a surprise, but "Brian," whose political views I do not share, also makes very good, thought-provoking arguments without maligning people "from left field" for the sake of doing so. Or at least I haven't seen it.
6.) And, yes, Malmo, who is inspiring, if not disagreeable.
Another vote for Mr. Chest. Does anyone have a link to a classic Mr. Chest thread? Mrs. M doesn't know who he is.
Honorable Mention
Malmo - for Summer of Malmo
Sagarin - for taking on the impossible task of teaching economics to the ignorant and delusional
Brian and Off the Grid - for being Formidable Opponents
anEconomist and John Smallberries - they're the only 2 posters who've managed to change my mind about something.
Mrs. M - for her great sense of humor (and other reasons)
BRM - for being long winded and insufferable
Best:

legally blonde (never saw an lb post that I didn't enjoy)
Mrs M. deserves an honorable mention
I'm often interested in the posts of Sir Lance-a-lot, john smallberries, and avocado's number. But I have to hand it to Flagpole. He's always posting, and despite often getting slammed (justly or unjustly), he manages to be pleasant, non-insulting, and upbeat. Few on here, including me, can say that. I have no idea how/why he cares so much about the big-business that is college football, but even his posts there are entertaining. Keep it up, FP.
