I'm a distance runner averaging about 70-75 miles a week in season for cross country. My PRs:
800m 2:05
1600m: 4:40
3200m: 10:15
5000m: 16:55
(haven't touched any of these since high school running 50-60 miles a week)
8000m: 27:21
Recent 1.5 mile time trial on track during XC season: 7:34
What are good workouts for improving my 3k and 5k times? My coach thinks given my 8k and XC season 9:20 (3k) and 16:00 (5k) are pretty good goals. He has me building up steadily over the next few weeks to 80 miles of just distance. Just wanted to get a second opinion on this.
Thanks
