Does anyone have a link to phase 2b for marathoners?
Oh, I read all the posts about FT/ST and I'm still not sure which I am. Does that mean I am split?

Nobody can tell you how much mileage to run. It all comes down to lifestyle, committment, desire, motivation... If you want to run a decent marathon you should expect to run 70-90mpw for a long build up to give it a decent crack.

Doubles rather than singles I had gone into elsewhere. ST's tend to benefit from lots of mileage. FT's (IMO) might find it easier to break the daily mileage into doubles to give them refuelling time (they are not so fat-burning efficient so will burn a higher ratio of carbs to fats on any distance run)
No need for overlong singles either: Can be:
Mon: 60 mins
Tue: 75 mins to include higher HR work
Wed: 45 mins
Thurs (AM): 90 mins
Fri: 75 mins to include higher HR work
Sat: 45 mins
Sun: alternate 2hrs at easy HR one week with 90 mins including 60 mins at higher HR work the next
The problem for a runner as slow as I am is that, to reach the 70-90 mpw, I need to spend much more time running than that. So, as long as I would like reach that mileage, my question is: Should I refrain this first year to go further in order to avoid injuries or can I run more as long as I feel (relatively) fresh enough? And, in this case, sohould I lenghten the singles -as you, like Lydiard, recommend- or, even if I'm a ST type -which is sopmething I don't know for sure nevertheless the valuable opinions of Pete, Races like a girl and yourelf- it would safer to try some doubbles?
Although I see it in a very distant future right now, I can figure out -from the Hadd and Cabrals's thread- the kind of training should I aim in phase IIa. But, same as Racey, I can't see the big picture of phase IIb: Is it kind of phase I, but at a higher intensity in order to reach the 89-91 HRmax level? Could you give us just some guidelines?
Thank you, Hadd.

I don't mean at all to hurry you up. But your interpretation is still very valuable for me.
