Walmart is freakshow these days!

And eventually these obese & sick people will, as they have already, put a strain on our economy with health care costs, disability and other welfare programs and we will be the ones paying for it. And just because they can't f***ing take care of themselves and have no self-respect.

Lee County's most wanted fugitive arrested trying to steal video games, police say

Lee County's most wanted fugitive is in jail after attempting to steal about $120 worth of Nintendo DS games from a Cape Coral Walmart, police say.

Daniel Larson, 32, of Cape Coral, already had an extensive criminal record, leading to his place on the list. He had two convictions for armed robbery with a deadly weapon in 1999 and 2004, and another 1999 conviction for kidnapping.

On Sept. 5, Larson was arrested on a larceny charge but was released the following day. He told police Wednesday he was released from the jail using fake identification.

Larson was wanted for violating probation on one of the armed robbery charges in 2006.

On Wednesday, Larson tried to leave Walmart at 1619 Del Prado Blvd. with the video games stuffed in his pants and shoes when he was stopped by a loss prevention officer, according to a police report.

Larson shoved the officer and attempted to flee. He was secured on the ground and placed in handcuffs.

During police questioning, Larson said that he intended to sell the games to support his drug habit.

He said he'd been using heroin for about 15 years, according to the report.

Police found a driver's license in Larson's wallet with the name Brian Christopher Seiler, which Larson claimed he found in a store parking lot.

He then told police he had a warrant out for his arrest for using a fake ID to get out of jail over Labor Day weekend.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident to learn how Larson was released from jail earlier this month.

Sgt. David Velez said that until a given identity is proven false, it's the identity a person keeps.

"If you got arrested tomorrow, you could say 'Wilma Flintstone,' and we'd book you under that name," Velez said.

Velez couldn't offer further information.

Larson now faces charges of of violating pretrial supervision, larceny, resisting a property recovery retail merchant, using a false identification that adversely affects others, forgery of a public record certificate and violating parole.

Wal-Mart didn't drive them out of business. They made a bad deal. Sucks to be them but that is how capitalism works. That's what happens when you dance with the devil. So much of the hate seems to be jealous because Wal-Mart is better at the game than other corps.

If Wal-Mart is how capitalism works, maybe Michael Moore is right after all. If you follow their tactics to their logical conclusion, there will be no manufacturing in the US, no locally-owned small businesses (which conservatives use to be in favor of), etc.

A friend of mine sells wood stoves out of his lumber business. He purchased wood pellets for stoves from a mom & pop supplier. The supplier finally got a contract to supply Walmart. My friends cost to carry pellents rose over 300%. He asked the supplier and was told that Walmart dictates the price they can sell their pellets to EVERYONE, to assure they are cheapest at Walmart.

I have other personal examples if you are interested.

That is an anti-competitive practice and should be prosecuted in court.

I am not unaware of the fact that Wal-Mart does some shady things and has tremendous leverage. When they cross the line they should be held accountable.

Their response was to laugh at my friend and reply, "Take on our lawyers and see how that works out for you!"

I work for a city. A Walmart was recently opened. The box building cost $30 million. At tax time, Walmart, paid on $22 million. They said, "Take us to court. We OWN the court system. We are paying on $22 million." That is a quote, not paraphrased. Of course they had a TIF and other tax breaks in addition to refusing to pay on the correct amount. Our city sued, and lost. They are paying on $22 million and it cost us hundreds of thousands in legal prep.

Ok, so then go to another Mom & Pop supplier who is selling at or near the old cost. Walmart could possibly dictate their suppliers' prices (essentially making them exclusive providers to WalMart) but they can't dictate everyone's prices.
