Why don't you try this one for size? It's not about MORE taxes to fix things like crumbling bridges, it's about forcing the goverment to use the taxes properly, rather than wasting money of failed socialist programs, you know, like all the ones the liberals draw up and vote for.
Also, for your specific example, if the folks in charge knew that bridge was in danger of collapsing and they CHOSE to spend their money on other things, then they should be held accountable for negligence and prosecuted.
It's not about money. It's about what they do with the money.
