Stony Brook returns their top5 from last year and look much stronger up front wither their top2 but UNH always has incredible depth.
my vote goes to alex felce for most handsome award
what does the vt course look like?
Does BU run everyone at American East? It seems from there website that would destroy in the America East.
Jochen Dieckfoss will probably run away with the mens individual title again.

Agreed. I think they found an old medical redshirt for him.
Yes, in case people don't know Dieckfoss returns for an extra season shooting for an unprecedented 5th title. A close source was able to document his pre-race regimen including the music that moves him. Any inside info like this on Hocking? My prediction: It'll come down to a final 400M kick between the two.
My (bold?) predictions for the upcoming season:
- Riely Masters wins the individual title. However he does not win by much at all. It is a very close race.
- UNH places in the top 3, but for the second straight year fails to win the title.
- BU's third man finishes in the top 10. Last year their #3 was 28th.
- Binghamton's score is in the 40s. Last year, they scored 30 and UNH (2nd place) scored 60.
- Stoney Brook finishes in the top 4.
I'd like to hear some other people's take on the conference.
For anyone that wants them: 2009 America East XC results

My predictions:
1) BU, Binghamton, UNH for top 3 (BU and Binghamton for top 2, UNH for 3rd)
2) Gibson, Master, Van Ingen for top 3 individual (no particular order)
3) Top 5 teams = Binghamton, BU, UNH, Stony Brook, Albany
...Last year the only team that had 3 in the top 10 was Binghamton (they had 4). I predict that this year 2 teams will have 3 in the top 10 and 3 will have 3 in the top 15. Personally, I think that it will be a dog fight up top with the top 2-3 teams this year with the rest of the conference falling hard off the back.
Anyone else?
Binghamton won by 30 points, and brings everyone back. It's theirs to lose.
If Boston actually stays healthy, I think they could be 2nd.
UNH will find a way to be top 3 again.
Darkhorse for top 3 is a young Albany team.

I think their #2 man was a grad student last year based on the "PG" (post grad) next to his name from last year's results.
Check the school website; he finished his undergraduate degree in three years (looks like he was on the America East All-Academic team), and has red-shirted once for each season. Even though this is his second year as a post-grad, he should still have eligibility for all three seasons.
Good points. Albany does have a team with a pretty good upside. Alex Leuchanka ran a very strong 10k, especially for a freshman, Sean Halpin is also ran well as a frosh. It would help if one of their milers like Moore or Lozier steped up.
BU has depth issues, last year sans MacPherson/Gibson they only mustered up a 6th - like Albany maybe one of their miler types from the track steps up? Haltom, Weider, Lehane, Horvath are all question marks for this coming XC season.
Look for Stony Brook's Tim Hodge and Boston's Eric Ashe to net top 5 places. Both are possible winners.
A few dark-horse picks for a top 5 position:
Martinez (Binghamton)
Gilmore (Boston)
Leuchanka (Albany)
Ugolino (Binghamton)
Quin (Binghamton)
I hardly think Martinez is a "dark horse" pick for Top 5. He won the 10k outdoors and ran near 30 min for 10k, didn't he?

Amazing that the 10k champ in track wouldn't be top 3 on his team the previous XC season. Are people forgetting about Van Ingen, Gaube, and Quaglia? I've heard some talk on the first two, but Quaglia is #4 from XC last year, as well as a 4:07-8 for the full mile.

Not to mention beating Riley Masters many times when they were HS teammates.
