I did my first rep/v02 session a couple of weeks ago. I knew was my pace was supposed to be for my current VDOT. I did 6 by 3 min on, 3 off. I didn't wantto be checking my watch every few minutes so I just ran as hard as I could for each 3 minute rep. I was consistent within 5 seconds for each rep and I ended up running 30 sec per mile faster than my prescribed pace. Is this ok or should I be really trying to stick to pace.
I am definitely better at the shorter faster stuff. My VDOT for 1500m (based on a time trial) is two higher than my half marathon or 10 miler.
Ps Im training for a marathon now (if that matters)
