Maybe the US wouldn't have been so dominant in the past had the likes of Lewis, Jones, Montgomery, Gatlin, etc not been doping. Perhaps the US team are clean at the moment, and that the results this year are more indicative of what they would or should normally expect?
Truest words said on this topic. If T&F were a clean sport, there is no reason to expect the US to be more dominant than they are at the moment. In the Caribbean nations, sprinting is the national sport. In the US it is not. Had Usain Bolt been born and raised in the US he would without a doubt have played wide receiver and never entered a NCAA track meet.
