Why, because people willing to call out the hypocrites are chiming in?

Well, where I am it's a lot more crowded than when I was growing up. I hate living around so many people and so many more cars.

What are you talking about? If you are referring to the young woman who mixed up libertarianism and socialism, I don't know how you view that as hypocrisy. Go to bed, son.

I was referring to how conservatives want more governmental influence in personal lives, and less governmental involvement in the business world, and vice versa for liberals. This seems hypocritical to me.
As far as the claim of being a libertarian and someone who favors socialism, I'm not really sure how that ISN'T hypocrisy. Libertarianism is a philosophy of the smallest possible effective government. Socialism is a philosophy of MASSIVELY large government. How are that in any way shape or form compatible?

Well, I agree with you as far as liberals and conservatives.
However, I don't think the young lady was being hypocritical as much as uninformed. You are right, they are incompatible.

So you want to get married but you now don't think it's possible. Tell me this is not an issue for you?

There's no "just making an observation" here. This is a way bigger deal then the fact that you're never going to play professional baseball. I'd guess there are deep reasons why you're making these observations. Rational thinking isn't necessarily going to help with everything in your personal life.
I'm not trying to psychoanalyse or pick apart your arguments (much!) I'm just saying that you need to be honest with yourself about what you really feel on this issue and from the way you've write I don't entirely believe that you are.
I guess it's a good thing that I don't care what you believe.
1) No b/c maybe she's independent and makes her 'own' money...
2) No b/c she 'invested' wisely on her own...
3) Possibly if she thinks she can produce a 'better' human being...
4) 1-2 would suffice...

Very stereotypical of your answers, markm!

Okay hot shot. March (no run) to your doctor next week and get a vasectomy. Put up or shut up.

Religion is logical if you operate under certain premises. 2+2=4, this is obvious to you because it's been drilled into you since you were young. Why is 2+2 equal to 4? It's one of those things where the answer seems simple, but it actually circular. I would never compare religion to numbers, I'm just saying that when you accept certain circular arguments as givens, there becomes nothing illogical about religion. I think gnosticism in general, be it theist or atheist is just plain silly.
Also, you DO realize that libertarianism is basically the POLAR F***ING OPPOSITE of socialism, right?
Also, about the global population crisis, there isn't one. Food production grows to meet demand. There's probably some limit, but starvation is a function of moving the food to the hungry, not creating the food.
I was just wondering why you think theism and atheism are silly? If your an atheist then i can understand why you would think theism is silly, if you believe in god then you would find atheism silly, but im just wondering why you included them both? Unless your arguing that trying to figure out whether there is or isn't a god is silly.
If you choose to get a tattoo that says "go f*** yourself" across your forehead, don't go around whining if you can't get a job as a news reporter.
If you choose to boycott children and religion, and you're not "willing to change," don't go around whining if you can't get a wife.

Isn't it awesome how you can say whatever you want to someone via a message board that you would never have the guts to say in real life?

Just because a person doesn't get something they wanted eventually doesn't make them not happy or content with their life. At least not for rational adults.
You aren't posting about your inability to play pro baseball. You ARE posting about not getting married. Unhappy may be too strong a term, but it sounds like a goal of yours isn't being met and you wish it could be different. You earlier admitted that you would prefer to get married eventually.
I was confused by this as well, but I did some google'ing and found: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarian_socialism. I don't think this was the OP was talking about (I think she was confused), but a curious combination of terms nonetheless.
I don't think those 4 things prevent you from meeting someone. They just make the amount of people a relationship would work with smaller, which I think can be said for a lot of other factors.
I doubt many women over the age of 25 are going to care if you drink alcohol or not.
Maybe you won't get married, who knows, but I don't think the 4 things you've mentioned rule it out.
Dude, stop THINKING so much. You're obviously not entirely happy if you are creating such a thread. If your just making an observation, no need for a public forum. Lighten up, don't take yourself or life too seriously. Grab a beer with your friends and hit on some women with lax morals.

Aside from hating family I think quite similarly and I'm also 26. Maybe my thoughts and feelings will be different in 5 or 10 years time or if I find a good lady friend in future but right now I'm pretty unconcerned by it.
How un-wise was I when my wife and I had a child last year with the population issues we are having. Oh dear!
