Every year during the TdF, I think the exact same thing... They (usually) have 3 hours of basically nothing going on - the break 5-10 minutes ahead, the peloton just riding along, waiting to catch them. AND THEY STILL MAKE IT INTERESTING!

the brits have some good announcers. ed eyestone did a great job in the olympics doing the distance events.

Love it, happens every race the commentate on.
It's because they're watching the same video we are, and really, a lot of those cyclists look the same. Unless they have a distingishing feature (Vino's cool sunglasses in 2007, or Lance's Livestrong helmet) it's very difficult to tell one rider from another.
That Alex Trebek guy is plenty smart as well.
