Does Columbia normally have a 1 minute spread? From the Princeton Invite results it seems like Princeton's 1-5 are closer together.

Columbia had a guy win the open race at pre nats.
They had a guy win the open race so that takes the spread down quite a bit.
Wow. Thanks, all, for the info. What are your projections now for the Heps races?
toss up on the men's side. blow out on the women's side.
the favorites to finish high up for men:
brown--escareno, duriel hardy
columbia--brendan martin, kyle merber
cornell--nate edelman
dartmouth--tom robbins, chris zablocki
harvard--dan chenoweth
penn--no one
princeton--leung, cabral
yale--jeff perrella
Penn's Chris Baird ran 24:10 at Paul Short
Anyone know what time the races start? One site says men at 11:15, women at 12:15; another says men at 12:30, women at 1:30. I plan to get over to VC to watch. (What a total geek I am!)
24:56 for that Columbia kid. Why was he in the open race? He would have been their 4th guy and nearly a min ahead of their 5, 6, 7. Seems like there is little chance the coaches would have overlooked him for the top 7... so why put him in the open? If he runs the same time in the White race, it moves Columbia up to 11th...
don't count out harvard yet, princeton might falter and harvard could pick em off.

Really important question for me, too. If I get to take any time off from work that day, it probably won't be much--I'd hate to be too early or late for the races...
it happens all the time in the ivy and it happens a lot to the top teams. There are so many quality kids that you don't know which kids are your top 7 until the end of the year.
A lot of guys work out and race differently. Its hard to always know that a guy will run well because he may workout much slower than other guys.

Both the Harvard, Yale, and Columbia XC schedules have a 12:30pm start time for Heps. This time is listed on both the men and women schedules, so I'm assuming things are starting at 12:30pm. If it's the men's race that starts things off, then there you go.
Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Princeton and Penn don't have times listed on their schedules (either saying TBA or ALL DAY).
Unless someone has connections with someone within the XC Ivy League office to confirm the times (since they are stating 11:15am and 12:15pm), I would guess the 12:30pm start time is correct.
I'm the Meet Administrator with the Ivy League. I've asked the office to ask schools to correct starting times on their websites:
Women' Race - 11:15AM
Men's Race - 12:15PM
Awards Ceremony to follow - approx. 1:15-1:30PM
Big thanks for the info, MA!
Thanks for that info. I've already re-arranged my day.
Which team has the largest roster in the Invy League?
I think Brown or am I wrong?
Any reason why one Ivy has a larger roster than the other?

recruited a few more distance runners or retained more per year than the other schools?
Does each Ivy have the same limit of how many xc/track athletes they are allowed to accept with the "below average" credentials (SAT/ACT)?
I would think that may have something to do with it.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
